The magic of nounspace is the ability to create, share, and customize. We’ve laid a great foundation for creating and customizing. We now have the opportunity to empower users and communities to share their customizations.
By enabling sharing themes, fidgets, and/or tabs via URLs, we can empower both users and their communities to quickly and easily share the magic of nounspace with one another.
Smart URLs serve multiple purposes that are core to nounspace’s strategy to provide the best platform for users and communities to both explore the online universe as well as share the look, sound, content, and functionality they wish with their audiences. Further, we can maximize the virality of this strategy by displaying results publicly and rewarding successful creators, referrers, and communities with $SPACE.
A share button can be added to each theme, fidget, and tab (which contains both themes and fidgets). When a user clicks a share button, the contents of the theme, fidget, or tab are encoded in a URL that’s copied to a user’s clipboard.
When new users visit nounspace through a Smart URL, they’re immediately guided through signing in with farcaster and authorizing nounspace as a signer, and then are prompted to add the theme, fidget, or tab encoded in the URL to either their space or homebase (this also serves as the approval/confirmation step). Once approved, the user is routed to the theme editor, fidget tray, or tab on either their space or homebase.
When users that are already signed in visit nounspace through a Smart URL, the experience is the same, but they skip the sign in flow and are immediately prompted to approve adding the theme, fidget, or tab.
A public dashboard displays realtime metrics for the top referrers, creators, and creations (themes, fidgets, and tabs), and similar to rounds.wtf, users and communities can see a live estimate of how much $SPACE they’ll earn for their activity. Users can browse top themes, fidgets, and tabs, and can easily add them by clicking the smart URL for each.
Pending governance approval, X tokens from the user pool will be allocated to nounspace users based on how many of their creations are being used by other users as well as how many new users they referred. The first round will last for 1 month, and if successful can be repeated indefinitely.
